Luma Terms of Service

Last updated July 19, 2026

These terms govern access to this Luma dashboard and its live streaming, recording, clipping, playback, diagnostics, and YouTube archiving features.

Acceptance

By accessing this Luma dashboard, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use this dashboard. The administrator who provides access to this instance may update, restrict, suspend, or remove access to protect the service, comply with law, or respond to misuse.

The Service

Luma provides tools for authentication, live stream ingest, recording, media integrity checks, repair workflows, clip creation, playback, system diagnostics, and optional background archiving to YouTube. Core features depend on local deployment components such as Jellyfin, Redis, MediaMTX, Caddy, Docker metrics, and configured storage. YouTube archiving depends on Google and YouTube only when a user explicitly connects YouTube.

Accounts and Security

You must use only accounts, stream keys, and external connections that you are authorized to use. You are responsible for activity under your authenticated Luma session, Jellyfin account, stream key, and connected YouTube account. Keep credentials and stream keys private, and notify the administrator if you believe access has been compromised.

Content and Permissions

You retain the rights you hold in streams, recordings, clips, metadata, and related media. By using Luma, you authorize Luma and the configured infrastructure to store, process, validate, repair, display, transmit, and upload your content as needed to provide the features you use.

You are responsible for having the rights, licenses, permissions, and consents required to record, store, share, publish, or upload content through Luma, including any copyrighted material, music, trademarks, likenesses, personal information, or content owned by others.

YouTube Archiving

Luma uses YouTube API Services only when a signed-in user connects a YouTube account. By using Luma features that access YouTube API Services, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service.

When YouTube archiving is enabled, you authorize Luma to identify the connected channel and upload eligible recordings according to your Luma settings. You are responsible for upload metadata and settings, including title, description, tags, category, privacy status, subscriber notification preference, and made-for-kids status. Disconnecting YouTube in Luma or revoking access in your Google Account stops future authorized uploads but does not remove videos already uploaded to YouTube.

You must comply with the YouTube Terms of Service, YouTube Community Guidelines, YouTube API Services Terms of Service, and applicable Google and YouTube policies.

Acceptable Use

  • Do not use Luma for unlawful, abusive, deceptive, invasive, or harmful activity.
  • Do not access another user's data, bypass authentication, disclose private stream keys, overload the service, or interfere with recordings or supporting infrastructure.
  • Do not upload, publish, or distribute content unless you have the right to do so.
  • Do not use Luma to misrepresent Luma's purpose, or access undocumented Google or YouTube APIs.

Local and External Services

Jellyfin, Redis, MediaMTX, Caddy, Docker metrics, and configured storage are local components of the same Luma deployment. Use of those components is internal processing for this dashboard, not third-party sharing.

Luma does not sell, rent, broker, disclose, or share dashboard data with outside parties for advertising, analytics, profiling, or unrelated services. The only external service connection built into this feature set is user-authorized YouTube archiving. Google and YouTube may apply their own terms, policies, quotas, limits, enforcement actions, and availability constraints to those authorized YouTube API Services actions.

Privacy

The Luma Privacy Policy explains how this dashboard handles account, media, diagnostic, and YouTube connection data.

Availability

Luma is provided as available. Recordings, clips, diagnostics, archive jobs, uploads, integrations, and playback can fail because of configuration errors, storage limits, network failures, service outages, API limits, software defects, or hardware issues. The administrator is responsible for backups, retention settings, monitoring, and recovery plans.

Disclaimers and Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Luma is provided without warranties of any kind, including warranties of availability, accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or error-free operation. Luma does not provide legal, copyright, privacy, moderation, or platform compliance advice.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the administrator and Luma contributors are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, lost profits, lost data, lost content, failed uploads, service interruption, external service account actions, or unauthorized access arising from use of this dashboard.

Changes

These terms may be updated as Luma features, integrations, legal requirements, or operating practices change. Continued use of this dashboard after updated terms are posted means you accept the updated terms.
